Beaver Falls

Beaver Falls is a drama/ comedy type series that is centered on three british young adults that decide to spend their summer vacation in America, working in a summer camp. There the story unravels.

This show is the typical 'summer vacation' kind of media. A lot of relationships developed, a lot of problems solved, and, of course, a lot of attractive people.

The only really bad thing that I have to say about this is that the plot is full of clichés to the point where you can guess 75% of it, and that is a deal breaker.

However, I like to think of this as the white version of Misfists (don't ask me why, I haven't figured it out either), and as a Misfits fan , I do kind of like it. Even though, the plot is extremely predictable, you do still enjoy the show, especially because you bond with certain characters (*cough* Barry *cough*).
That being said I am going to miss the show, but I couldn't really see how they could carry it on onto the 3rd series.

Typically, I like to make a top three episodes, so you can judge the series for yourself. However, I don't have one for this show, because none of them scream 'special' to me. They're all sort of the same and that's a bummer.

Thelma and Louise (1991)

First of all, this movie is now one of my favourites.

Thelma and Louise is a movie by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Robin Hood, Prometheus) in which the two main characters are women (HURRAY!). 

Thelma (married to a douche bag of a husband, let's get real) and Louise take off to a two-day vacation in the mountains. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Horror movie...". Nops, it's not.

They decide to stop in a bar, get some drinks, have a little fun, and some girl time and then continue their journey, and that's when they meet Harlan Puckett. Harlan and Thelma hit it off and spend the night dancing and drinking. Later on, Thelma and Harlan leave to get some fresh air and he tries to rape her. And that's when Louise appears, threatens him with a gun and shoots him dead.

I know, I'm spoiling you, but it's a necessary spoiler, okay? Bear with me for a while.

Louise decides they should both flee the scene and not go to the police (they never do) because she knows they'll never believe it was self-defence, everyone saw Thelma and him dancind all night. 

The movie is about them trying to get to Mexico and run from the police and unleashing their badass-side during the run. You see arm robberies, sex-scenes with Brad Pitt (oh, yeah), explosions, car-chasing scenes...They now live outside the law, defying cops and still having fun.

The movie just gets better and better by the minute. The reason why I loved it so much is because of the moral implications. Twenty years ago, these two girls knew the police wouldn't help, no one would believe that man had tried to rape her, and now, 2012, it's still happening. So they decide to make their own laws, run, have fun, but they still know they did the right thing when they shot him. It's a film about friendship, about doing what's right, about freedom, most of all, because they'll refuse getting caught once they know they'll either go to jail or be sentenced to death for trying to save their own lives. So they just run, they start living,  really, they become these badass chicks who learn how to defende themselves, how to outsmart the cops and have fun. 

I won't tell you how it ends, obviously, just know that it's a great movie, you'll have the greatest time, and it's gonna make you think about women's rights and how women are perceived in today's society.

As for me, I'll really try to buy it on DVD.

It's a do watch, y'all.

Doctor Who Prequel: Pond Life part 5

Okay, here is the 5th and final part of Pond Life, the mini-episodes of Doctor Who, building up to the first episode of season seven, airing tomorrow.

Now we can see where it's headed. Beware because it is the most dramatic episode. It's amazing how much damage one mini, mini-episode can do to a Whovian. Well, thanks for that, Moffat.

Justice League Unlimited

I promised myself I would get this review up by today, so here it is.

Justice League Unlimited is an anime type series based (as you could probably tell) on the Justice League. If you do watch this show, you were probably confused as to why they're called "Justice League" and "Justice League Unlimited". The latter is a direct sequel to Justice League, in fact many people consider it to be the same show. So here you go, no more confusion.

Justice League Unlimited is a great show if you aren't really in the mood to watch anything without an intense plot or that you just don't feel like trying to understand every little relationship that goes on. You can probably catch an episode on TV and be as involved and aware of the series as your friend who has watched the entire show. Apart from that, the only flaw this show presents is that it uses the same supervillains over and over again. There are a billion other great supervillains in the DC world, but they managed to incorporate the majority of Superman's villains, leaving the audience with a feeling that the other superheroes just live a grand life.

That being said, this show has great amount of badassery. If you can think of any DC superhero, I can almost guarantee you it is in this show. Seriously, the amount of superheros is ridiculous (not that that is a bad thing, in fact it just adds to the awesome factor). You can  always count on some fight scenes between a group of superheroes against some pretty badass villains to happen in any episode and those are always pleasing to the eye, and given the fact that this is an animated show, you can't get  distracted by the bad CGI.

So, I majorly recommend this show to DC fanboys/girls or just 'anything superhero related suckers'. If you're not that into superheroes, then don't watch this. Although, I have a top three episodes you should probably watch, because they are AMAZING.

Top 3:

• End of series 2 (Starcrossed (1,2,3)). The whole story of the show changes dramatically from here on out.
• End of series 4 (Panic In The Sky, Divided We Fall). Just awesome. WATCH IT.
• Episode 13 of series 4 (Epilogue): This a super must watch for Batman fans. 

I would probably include the season 5 finale in there, because it was AMAZING watching superheroes and supervillians fighting together.

As for rating, (this is my system, which basically tells you how much money you should spend on something), you should probably get Justice League Unlimited on
